The plaque is constructed from three individually cut layers of MDF, giving the design genuine physical depth rather than simply being a flat printed graphic. When assembled, the MDF itself measures approximately 15mm in total thickness, creating a strong raised and shadowed appearance when viewed from the front or from an angle.

The front layer is made from 3mm MDF, precision cut to form the detailed Cock Sparrer logo, including the lettering, wings and feather detailing. This layer has been spray-painted in a vivid red, producing the striking colour that dominates the design.

Behind this sits a 6mm white MDF layer. The white background shows through the precision-cut sections of the red artwork, helping define the lettering and intricate wing details while providing excellent contrast.

The final backing layer is made from 6mm MDF and spray-painted black. It extends around the outer profile of the design, creating a substantial black border and giving the plaque a particularly effective three-dimensional shadow effect. The combination of red, white and black produces excellent visual separation between each layer and makes the design stand out strongly against a wall.

From the finished plaque, the layered construction is especially noticeable around the outer edges, lettering, wing tips and feather details, where the different MDF levels give the artwork additional definition and depth. The black backing also creates the appearance of a framed silhouette without requiring a conventional frame.
